NO GATEKEEPING! INTERVIEW

Before we dive into the specifics, could you introduce yourself and share a bit about your background and the experiences that have shaped your path in entrepreneurship?
Hi, I’m Monique—Self-Love Enthusiast, Transformation & Mindset Coach, and the founder of Haus of Self, a space dedicated to helping women rewrite their stories through healing, self-love, and mindset work. My passion for lifting people up has been the driving force behind everything I do, from leading women’s empowerment groups to curating transformative experiences that help women step into their power.
My journey into entrepreneurship has been shaped by resilience, self-discovery, and a deep desire to create spaces where women feel seen, heard, and supported. I started my career in sales and corporate leadership, where I developed training programs that not only onboarded employees but also created a safe space for growth. However, my true calling emerged from my own personal healing journey—overcoming abandonment, heartbreak, and self-doubt. I realized that my purpose was to help other women reclaim their confidence, break free from people-pleasing, and build lives that align with their true desires.
Beyond Haus of Self, I’ve had the privilege of empowering women through my work with various women’s empowerment groups, where I create spaces for connection, transformation, and community. Additionally, as the Creative Director of Avision Mag, I used my passion for storytelling and brand strategy to amplify voices, celebrate resilience, and bring impactful narratives to life.
Now, I’m focused on scaling Haus of Self into a powerhouse for self-love, mindset shifts, and empowerment. I believe healing is the most uncomfortable yet rewarding journey, and I’m here to help women navigate it with confidence, clarity and self love.

It's like a rulebook that tells everyone exactly how a brand should look, sound, and feel so that it's recognizable everywhere

What are some key lessons you've learned through your journey that weren't obvious when you started?
When I started this journey, I thought passion and hard work would be enough to build something meaningful. While those things are essential, I quickly learned that true success requires much more.
1. Healing and Self-Love Are Business Strategies!!
I always knew self-love was important, but I didn’t realize how much my personal healing would impact my business. The more I healed, the clearer my vision became.
2. People Buy Into You, Not Just Your Offerings
I spent years trying to perfect my services, but what truly connects with people is my story. Women resonate with who I am and why I do what I do.
3. Community Is Everything
I thought I had to do it all alone, but entrepreneurship can be lonely if you don’t intentionally build a support system.
4.Perfection Is the Enemy of Progress
I used to overthink every launch, every post, every offer—waiting for the “perfect” moment. But perfectionism leads to procrastination.
5. Resilience Is More Important Than Motivation
Motivation will come and go, but resilience is what keeps you going. There will be slow months, failed ideas, and moments of doubt, but pushing through those seasons is what separates those who succeed from those who quit.
6. Money Follows Impact, Not Just Hard Work
I used to believe that working harder would lead to more income, but I’ve learned that working smarter and focusing on impact makes the real difference.
7. Rest Is a Power Move
Hustle culture had me believing that if I wasn’t constantly working, I wasn’t rowing. But burnout doesn’t lead to success—alignment does.

That's so really powerful stuff, What’s a personal habit or mindset shift that helped you overcome difficult situations?
One of the biggest mindset shifts that helped me overcome difficult situations was learning to reframe my struggles as lessons instead of setbacks.
For a long time, I saw challenges as proof that maybe I wasn’t meant for this path—whether it was dealing with personal trauma, self-doubt, or moments where things didn’t go as planned in my business. But the moment I started asking myself, "What is this trying to teach me?"instead of "Why is this happening to me?", everything changed.
Instead of letting challenges break me, I started using them as fuel. Every rejection, slow season, or personal hardship became an opportunity to reflect, pivot, and grow. I realized that resilience isn’t about avoiding difficulties—it’s about how you respond to them.
Another personal habit that helped me navigate tough moments was daily self-check-ins. Whether it was journaling, taking a solo walk, or simply sitting in stillness, I made it a habit to get honest with myself about how I was feeling. This practice helped me stay grounded, clear-headed, and intentional in my decisions instead of reacting from a place of fear or overwhelm.
At the end of the day, I’ve learned that your mindset is your greatest asset. Challenges will come, but if you believe that you are capable of handling them—and trust that they are guiding you to something greater—you’ll always find a way forward.

Can you share a particular strategy or approach that’s improved your productivity or creativity?
One of the biggest game-changers for my productivity and creativity has been structured flexibility—a balance between having systems in place while allowing room for flow and inspiration.
For me, this looks like:
1. Time Blocking with Theme Days
Instead of bouncing between different tasks all day, I assign specific days to specific types of work. For example:
-Monday:Content creation (emails, social media, podcasts)
- Tuesday:Coaching & client calls
- Wednesday:Admin, strategy, & business development
- Thursday:Creative deep work (writing, course creation, event planning)
- Friday:Personal development & CEO visioning
This system keeps me from feeling scattered and allows me to go all-in on a specific type of work without context switching.
2. The Power of Brain Dumps & “Creative Sprints”
As someone with ADHD, I have a million ideas at once. Instead of trying to work on everything at the same time, I do brain dumps—writing out all my ideas in a dedicated “Idea Vault” in Notion or a journal. Then, I prioritize what’s most aligned with my goals.
For execution, I use creative sprints—working intensely on an idea for 90 minutes with no distractions, then taking a break. This focused time lets me get more done in a few hours than I would in a whole day of multitasking.
3. Switching Environments for Inspiration
I get my best ideas when I change my environment—whether it’s working at a coffee shop, taking a solo weekend trip, or sitting by water. If I ever feel stuck creatively, I step away from my desk and give myself space to think. Creativity flows when you stop forcing it.
4. Embracing “Done is Better Than Perfect”
I used to overthink everything—whether it was launching a program, posting content, or writing an email. But I’ve learned that perfectionism is just fear in disguise. Now, I focus on progress over perfection—getting things out into the world, testing, and refining along the way.
5. Prioritizing Self-Care as a Productivity Hack
I used to think working harder = more results, but I’ve realized that rest is a power move. When I prioritize self-care—reading with a candle, taking long walks, or just being still—my creativity flows effortlessly.
Burnout kills productivity, but alignment fuels it.
At the end of the day, productivity isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing the right things with focus and intention. creativity thrives when you give it space to breathe.
Can you share a particular strategy or approach that’s improved your productivity or creativity?
I hope that when people hear my story, they see proof that healing is possible, transformation is real, and self-love is the foundation for everything.I want them to know that no matter what they’ve been through— abandonment, heartbreak, self-doubt, or feeling lost—they are not defined by their past. I hope my journey shows them that they can reclaim their power, rewrite their story, and build a life that aligns with their true desires.
I want people to walk away knowing that growth is uncomfortable but always worth it-that the moments when you feel the most lost are often the ones leading you to your greatest breakthrough. I hope they feel inspired to prioritize themselves, set boundaries without guilt, and understand that choosing self-love isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.
Most importantly, I want them to see that they are worthy—of love, success, peace, and joy—just as they are, in this moment. If my experiences can help even one person realize their strength, step into their confidence, and start living intentionally, then sharing my story has served its purpose.
