New Harlem Renaissance is a Harlem-based nonprofit giving the neighborhood's youth free and low-cost access to the arts — podcasting, photography, video production, fashion merchandising, and performing arts. It was founded by Omar Thompson, a Harlem native, father of four, and standup comedian, after a request for a teen photography workshop was denied in his own community. Inspired by his prior work with L.E.A.P. and AmeriCorps, Omar built NHR to make sure Harlem's next generation of artists never hears "no" again.

The mission is direct: remove the financial barrier between Harlem's youth and the same cultural institutions — Broadway, Lincoln Center, MoMA — that legends like Baldwin, Billie Holiday, and Langston Hughes shaped but rarely got to walk into themselves.

Before Designed To Conquer, NHR was running on an outdated, DIY-built website that didn't reflect the caliber of the organization or its programming. For a nonprofit, the website isn't a brochure — it's the donation funnel, the credibility check for funders and partners, and often a family's first impression of whether a program is legitimate and safe for their kid. NHR needed a digital presence that could carry that weight.
